Read the passage and choose a correct answer for each question
Anne Frank was a Jewish victim of the Holocaust (sự huỷ diệt) known for keeping a diary of her
experiences in a concentration camp (trại tập trung) . Anne was born in 1929 in Germany. She was
given a diary for her 13th birthday. Ann started to write about everyday events in her diary, things
that might appear trivial ( vặt vãnh) like what she ate or arguments she had with her mother. But
later her diary helped form a picture of what life was like during this historical period. When the
Nazis (Đảng quốc xã – Đức) found eight people from Anne's family in their hiding place, they sent
them to concentration camps. As the conditions in the camp were so poor, Anne and her sister
died of a disease called typhus just a few months before World War II ended. Anne's diary was
saved by one of the people who helped her family and returned to her father, Otto Frank, the only
survivor in the family. He decided to publish the diary, realizing Anne's dream of becoming a
famous author. Since it was first published, her diary has sold millions of copies worldwide and
been translated into more than 70 languages. The diary is an important account of how Jewish
people were treated by the Nazis. Otto also published his daughter's diary in the hope that it
would raise readers' awareness of the dangers of prejudice, discrimination, hostility, (sự thù địch)
