READING
Exercise 1. Read the text, and answer the questions.
When John was 21, he graduated from college and decided to travel. He travelled to several countries in the
world with a backpack, a camera, and a guitar. First, he took pictures of anything. For every 100 shots he took,
he found one that he liked. But it didn't matter to him because that was worth everything to him. After that, he
knew that photography is not always about what you share but about what you don't. He stopped posting
thousands of pictures to Facebook every month and started building his own website and a photography blog.
His friends told him, "Don't show everything. Show only your best work". He started posting photos on his
blog and stories behind them three times a week. The blog taught him to take photos with a purpose, and
make sure that the photos were able to support a story or to tell a story of itself. He also read the camera
manual to know how to use it better. He took fewer pictures each time, and he began to take more good
photos. He was still learning photography and he was happier with the result.
