Introduction
(Review: Invite one student to the board, hold the flashcard and make a telephone number, then ask the class: “What’s your telephone number?”. Change roles and repeat.
Recording 08:
(Arrange the flashcards on the board. Play audio and have students listen, repeat several times and point to the pictures in their books.
(Change the order of the flashcards, point them individually and have students say the words, correct pronunciation when needed.
(Play the “Guess” game. Arrange the flashcard face down on the board. Have students take turns to guess the face down card. Turn the flashcard over after each guess.
Development
(Recording 09: Review the story from the previous lesson “After a school trip....” And introduce the new situation “Tom is asking how old people are…”
(Recording 10: Play audio, demonstrate the activity using the example. Have students listen and write the numbers. Afterwards, check answers as a whole class.
(Recording 11: Draw students’ attention to the structure box. Play audio and have students listen and repeat.
(Have students look back at the story, ask them how old these characters are.
(Recording 12: Play audio, have students listen and point to the pictures in Part A. Have students sing the song as the whole class. Group A: sing the questions; Group B: sing the answers. Swap roles and repeat.
(Recording 13: Draw attention to the pronunciation feature. Play audio. Have students listen and repeat with a focus on the feature.

Group B, you say, ”They’re four years old.”

Continue whole class/group/individual drills, with:

3. Divide the class into pairs.
4. Have student A point and ask and student B answer.
5. Swap roles and repeat.
6. Afterwards, have some pairs demonstrate the activity in front of
the class.
(“Tic, tac, toe” game: Divide the class into groups of four, with two students in each team. Have teams play rock, paper, and scissors. The winning team chooses a square, asks and answers. Have the teams take turns. Swap roles and repeat until the game is fi nished. Before the end of the lesson, check the answers as a whole class.
