The effects of computers on children
Computers have some good effects on children. Many learning software
programmes help them learn vocabulary, maths, English, typing and many
more. A lot of computer games help children learn foreign languages. They
learn and have fun at the same time. Also, children can share their ideas with
their friends on the Internet. That means they can communicate online.
However, there are some bad effects of computers on them. Children probably
become addicted to computer games. Most children spend too much time in
front of their computer playing computer games. They don't have time for any
physical activities. Another bad thing is that using computers too much is
harmful to their eyes. If children do this, they may wear near-sighted glasses

* Part 2: Read the text and answer the questions (1,25 ms)
The country is more beautiful than a town and more pleasant to live in.
Many people think so, and go to the country for the summer holidays though
they cannot live there all the year round. Some have a cottage built in a village
so that they can go there whenever they can find the time.
English villages are not all alike, but in some ways they are not very
different from one another. Almost every village has a church, the round or
square tower of which can be seen from many miles around. Surrounding the
church is the churchyard, where people are buried.
The village green is a wide stretch of grass, and houses of cottages are
built round it. Country life is now fairly comfortable and many villages have
running water brought through pipes into each house. Most villages are so close
to some small towns that people can go there to buy what they can't find in the
village shops.
1. When do city people often go the country?
……………………………………………………………

2. What is the advantage of city people when they have a cottage built in the
village?
