A Life of Courage and Compassion
Every country has people whose lives continue to inspire future generations. In Vietnam, one of
the most admired figures is Dang Thuy Tram, a young doctor whose courage, compassion and
dedication have become a symbol of patriotism and humanity.
Dang Thuy Tram graduated from medical school in Hanoi in the 1960s. Although she could have
chosen a safer life in the city, she volunteered to work in a dangerous battlefield in central Vietnam
during the war. There, she treated wounded soldiers and local people under extremely difficult
conditions. Medical supplies were limited, and hospitals were often moved from one place to another to
avoid attacks. Despite these hardships, she remained devoted to her patients and never stopped caring for
those in need.
Besides working as a doctor, Dang Thuy Tram kept a personal diary. In it, she wrote honestly
about her daily life, her hopes, her fears and her deep love for her country and the people she served. She
believed that every patient deserved the best care possible, even when she herself was exhausted or in
danger. Her diary also showed her determination to continue her work despite the constant risk of losing
her own life.
Dang Thuy Tram died in 1970 at the age of twenty-seven. Many years later, her diary was
returned to her family after being kept by an American soldier who believed it contained an important
message about humanity rather than hatred. When the diary was published, millions of readers were
deeply moved by her kindness, courage and sacrifice. Today, her story continues to inspire young
Vietnamese to work hard, care for others and make meaningful contributions to society.

Although Dang Thuy Tram lived only a short life, her legacy remains unforgettable. She reminds

Vietnamese to work hard, care for others and make meaningful contributions to society.

character and Disney was very popular worldwide.
But Disney did not stop there. He went on to produce his first feature-length animated film Snow White

release and eight Oscars, the top award in the film industry. Throughout his career, Disney won or
