II. Phrases of purpose (cụm từ chỉ mục đích) :
"so as to - inf" or "in order to-inf" : để diễn tả mục đích của 1 hành động
Ex : She has to get up early so as to/ in order to learn E lesson.
Ex : Cool the burns immediately so as to minimize tissue damage.
III: Use “mind” in requests.
- Would you mind sitting in the front seat of the taxi?
+ No problem.
- Would you mind if I took a photo?
+ Not at all.
Usage : To make and respond to formal requests:
Form:1. Would/ Do you mind + Ving ?
2.Would you mind if + S + V2/ed ?
3. Do you mind if + S + V1 ?
Agreement:
- No I don’t mind/No ,of course/Not at all./Please do /Please go ahead.
Disagreement:
- I’m sorry, I can’t/ I’m sorry , It’s impossible.
I’d prefer you didn’t /I’d rather you didn’t.
VI.Passive form.
