THÌ QUÁ KHỨ ĐƠN
1. Cấu trúc
(+) Với V: S + Ved + O
Ex:

Với “tobe”: S + was/ were + O

I ate KFC yesterday. (Hôm qua tôi ăn KFC)
I was sad because of you yesterday. (Hôm qua tôi đã buồn vì bạn)

Lưu ý: S = I/ He/ She/ It/ Danh từ số ít + was
S = We/ You/ They/ Danh từ số nhiều + were
Ex:

They were at home last night. (Tối qua họ ở nhà)
Tom was at school yesterday. (Hôm qua Tom ở trường)

Với V: S + did not + V + O
Với “tobe”: S + was/ were + not + N/Adj

Ex:

I didn't study last night. (Tối qua tôi không học bài)
My dress wasn't dirty last night. (Tối qua váy của tôi không bị bẩn)

Lưu ý: did not = didn't; was not = wasn't; were not = weren't
Đằng sau didn't, ta để động từ ở dạng nguyên thể
Ex: Câu sai: She didn't liked you. (Cô ấy không còn thích bạn)
=> Câu đúng: She didn't like you.
(?) Với V: Did + S + V + N/Adj?
=> (+) Yes, S + did / (-) No, S + didn't
Với “tobe”: Was/ Were + S + N/Adj?
=> (+) Yes, S + was/ were/(-) No, S + wasn't/ weren't

Ex:

Did you break up with her yesterday? (Hôm qua bạn đã chia tay cô ấy

chưa?) => Yes, I did/ No, I didn't
Was the concert full of people yesterday? (Hôm qua buổi diễn có đông
không?) => Yes, it was/No, it wasn't
Câu hỏi có từ để hỏi: WH-word + did/was/were + S (+ not) + V?
 S + Ved / S + was/were (+ not) + N/Adj.
Ex: Where did you go yesterday? (Hôm qua bạn đã đi đâu?)
 I went to the library. (Tôi đã đến thư viện)
What was the weather like yesterday? (Hôm qua thời tiết như thế nào?)
 It was nice. (Trời đẹp)
3. Cách dùng
- Dùng để hành động xảy ra và đã chấm dứt trong quá khứ
Ex: I visited Nha Trang City 2 months ago. (Tôi đi Nha Trang hai tháng trước)
- Dùng để diễn tả sự thật, thói quen trong quá khứ
Ex: I used to wake up at 6.AM when I was in high school. (Tôi thường dậy lúc 6
giờ sáng khi còn học cấp ba)
- Dùng để diễn tả hành động xảy ra liên tiếp nhau
Ex: I brushed my teeth, turned off the lamp and then slept. (Tôi đánh răng, tắt
đèn và đi ngủ)
- Dùng làm mệnh đề phụ trong câu điều kiện loại 2
Ex: If I did my homework, I wouldn't be punished. (Nếu tôi làm bài tập về nhà,
tôi đã không bị phạt)
4. Dấu hiệu nhận biết
Trong câu thường xuất hiện các từ như: ago (cách đây...); in + năm; yesterday
(ngày hôm qua); When + mệnh đề chia thì quá khứ đơn: khi...
