Last summer, my family and I decided to go on a great adventure to Greenland. We booked a package
holiday through a reliable travel agent so that our journey would be smooth and worry-free. We didn't
expect that our dream vacation would soon turn into a nightmare.
We reached the Kangerlussuaq Airport, the largest and busiest airport in Greenland, at 10.30 am. No one
came to pick us up, so we had to make several phone calls to the travel agent. They told us there was an
accident with the car they sent for us, and we should wait for 5 minutes. The car came 4 hours and 30
minutes late, so we were extremely tired and angry.
When we arrived at the accommodation, we were shocked to discover the hotel facilities were not what
we expected. Our hotel room had no heating, making the Arctic cold unbearable. Also, the food that the
hotel prepared for us was limited. If we came late, we would be hungry.
To make matters worse, our tour guide was easily annoyed and always complaining. His only job was to
announce that it was time for lunch. He also didn't seem to know much about the area or have any
energy to talk to us. When we came back home, we sent an email to the travel agent and asked them to
give us our money back.
The great adventure we imagined turned into a confusing and disappointing experience. We hope to
never have any experience like that again.
