TRẠNG TỪ CHỈ TẦN SUẤT (ADVERBS OF FREQUENCY)
I.
Những trạng từ chỉ tần suất phổ biến và công dụng
- Trạng từ chỉ tần suất dùng để chỉ mức độ thường xuyên hoặc không thường
xuyên của hành động, sự việc được nói đến trong câu.
- Trong câu chúng ta thường đặt những trạng từ chỉ tần suất ở trước động từ
thường và sau động từ tobe. Những từ này thường được sử dụng phổ biến ở
thì Hiện Tại Đơn để diễn tả những hành động lặp đi lặp lại thường xuyên
hoặc không thường xuyên.

Các vị trí của trạng từ tần suất trong câu
 Trạng từ tần suất đứng ở đầu câu với mục đích nhấn mạnh (trừ “never,
always, often” sẽ không được đặt ở đầu câu).
Ví Dụ:
- Sometimes Hung visits his father. (Thỉnh thoảng Hưng có đi thăm bố của anh ấy)
- Normally, I go for a run in the morning to start my day. (Thông thường, tôi chạy
bộ để bắt đầu ngày mới)
- Usually, they drink coffee in the mornings. (Họ thường xuyên uống cà phê vào
buổi sáng)
Lưu ý:
- Always, I go to the beach. (Câu sai)
 I always go to the beach. (Câu đúng) (Tôi đi biển suốt.)
- Often, I go to the beach. (Câu sai)
 I often go to the beach. (Câu đúng) (Tôi thường hay đi biển)
- Never, Minh does the dishes after meal. (Câu sai)
 Minh never does the dishes after meal. (Câu đúng) (Minh không bao giờ
rửa chén sau bữa ăn)
 Trạng từ tần suất đứng giữa chủ ngữ và động từ thường
Ví Dụ:
- He usually eats breakfast at 7.30 AM. (Anh ấy thường ăn sáng lúc 7 giờ sáng)
- We rarely go to the cinema on weekdays. (Chúng tôi hiếm khi đi xem phim vào
các ngày trong tuần)

 Trạng từ tần suất đứng sau động từ tobe (am, is, are) và đứng trước tính
từ.
Ví Dụ:
- He is always very happy. (Anh ấy lúc nào cũng vui vẻ.)
- They are usually late for the meeting. (Họ thường đến cuộc họp muộn)

- I am often busy with my work. (Tôi thường bận rộn với công việc)
- Peter is always friendly with kids. (Peter luôn thân thiện với trẻ em)
- Jack is often on time. (Jack thường đúng giờ)

 Trong câu nghi vấn (câu hỏi), trạng từ tần suất đứng trước động từ
Ví Dụ:
- When does she usually have lunch? (Cô ấy thường ăn trưa vào lúc nào?)
- What does Lan usually do on weekends? (Lan thường làm gì vào cuối tuần?)
- Do you often go to the cinema? (Bạn có thường đi xem phim không?)
- Does Lan sometimes visit her grandma? (Lan có thường tới thăm bà của cô ấy
không?)

 Trong câu phủ định, trạng từ tần suất đứng trước động từ và sau trợ động
từ (don't, doesn't)
Ví Dụ:
- She doesn't usually eat junk food. (Cô ấy không thường xuyên ăn đồ ăn vặt)
- We don't usually visit that restaurant. (Chúng tôi không thường xuyên đến nhà
hàng đó)
- We aren't always late for work. (chúng tôi không liên tục đi làm trễ) ('late' là
tính từ nên phải dùng động từ tobe là am/is/are)
