UNIT 6: MY FAMILY
(LESSON 3+4)
1. Class description: students (Ss) in grade 2-3
2. Time: 90 minutes
3. Objectives: After the lesson
- Skill: Ss will be able to:
+ know how to spell words: mum, dad, brother, sister, grandma, grandpa, aunt, uncle, cousin.
+ understand and use possessive ‘S
+ know subject pronouns: I’m and you’re
+ ask and answer Yes/No question : Are you.....?
+ develop speaking and listening skills
- Language: Ss will be able to:
+ know members in family
4. Assumed knowledge: Ss have known some vocabularies related to the topic.
5. Anticipated problem(s):
- Ss may not know words about topic.
6. Teaching aids: Text book, flashcard, markers, computer, stickers, CD player.

Warm-up
-T says “ Hello, students” and asks “ How are you today?”
-T writes their names on the board.
- Checks the total.
- Playing Game: Living Words.
+ T divides class into 2 teams : Team A and Team B.
+ T asks Ss to make two lines ( each team is a line)
+ T gives topic “THE PARK”, Ss will draw and say things in the park.
+ Which team draws more things, will get 1 star
the maximum star in the game is 3 stars
- One by one stands up and answers the T’s question
(Each student has to say two things)
-Listen to T
-Make line
-Play the game

Presentation
New words: mum, dad, brother, sister, grandma, grandpa, aunt, uncle, cousin.
-Play Game: Yes or No
+T shows flashcards and asks Ss to read. Who reads louder, will get the flashcard. T does until flashcards are gone.
+T hides flashcard, doesn’t show for Ss to see. Then, T asks “ Is she/he.....?”
Ss will guess: Yes, she/he is
No, she/he isn’t
+Who guess correctly, will get 1 star.
+T does that until flashcards are gone.
-Play Game: SLAP THE BOARD
+ T divides the class into 2 teams: Team 1 and Team 2.
+ T asks Ss make 2 lines.
+ T sticks flashcards on the board.
+ T asks Ss to listen and slap picture when T says words: balloon, boat, ball, doll, robot, teddy bear, car.
+ Which student of team says louder and slap quickly, will be the winner, will get 1 star.
-Read.
-Give answer.
-Listen to T.
-Make line.
-Play the game

Spelling words:
-T sticks flashcards on the board. Then, T ask Ss to spell letters. Flashcard and word are side by side.
-T calls on Ss to spell and read word
For example: D-A-D = DAD
M-U-M = MUM
-Play game: Finding letters
-T divides the class into 2 teams: Team A and Team B
+ T asks 2 teams to make 2 lines.
+ T puts letters and flashcards on the floor.
+ The team will pick up flashcard and the other team will find letters to make a word.
-Play Game: Which is more beautiful?
+ T says some words and asks Ss to write it on the board.
+ One by one has to write the word. Which team write correctly and more beautifully, will be winner and get 1 star
-Spell
-Listen to T.
-Make line.
-Play the game
-Listen to T
-Play the game.

-T plays CD 1 time.
-T read one by one sentence and ask Ss to repeat.
-T asks Ss to sing whole song without music.
-T play music and ask Ss to sing. Who sing louder, will get 1 star.
-T divides the class into 2 teams. Each team will sing 1 or 2 times, which team sings louder, will get 1 star.
( Ss stand up and do actions when singing)
